Zion

February 2-8: Moses 7:16-21

Ideas taken from various passages

throughout scripture on the topic of Zion.

A people of one heart,

A people of one mind,

All walking in the beauty

Of perfection God has shined.

Our cloud of smoke by day,

Our fire light by night,

His glory our defense

And His goodness our delight.

Here tears and sighing flee,

Here sorrow is no more,

Here tools are used for service

That had once been forged for war.

All poverty is ended,

All work with one accord,

And all her deserts turn to be

The garden of the Lord.

Come speak of all His doings,

Come and His love declare,

Come publish of His tidings

As we build His city fair.

All those who fight against,

All those who walk perverse,

Will find their banquet empty

Waking hungry and athirst.

Oh let her glory shine,

Oh let her peace command,

Oh let her chords be lengthened

And her borders all expand.

Come now all weary souls,

Come out from Babylon,

Come to Zion, come and see

The work of God goes on!
