Intercession

June 15-21: 1 Samuel 25:1-35

Upon me now lay all the blame,

I bear in full the guilt and shame,

Whatever fool hath hurt thy name

Consider me the same.

Whatever losses grieve your heart,

Whatever pain they did impart,

The deepest grief from end to start

I take on every part.

Upon the Lord the traitors sin,

Was laid that death might never win,

That too each soul might now begin

To let forgiveness in.

Then if the Lord did intercede,

And for the sinner ever plead,

Forgive all men as he decreed

And from all hate concede.

How kind is He to take our place,

To bear all faults and all disgrace,

To make above for each a place

Through interceding grace.
