May 25-31 : Judges 7

Thirty two thousand

Israelite men,

Armed for the battle

Determined- but then,

“Too great,” Says the Lord

“In number are they,

Take all who are fearful

And send them away."

Ten thousand soldiers

Remain at their will,

But ten thousand soldiers

Are too many still.

Then down to the water

All left to contend,

Some lapping up water

Some on knee descend.

“Send home,” says the Lord,

“Those down on their knees,

And those who are left,

I’ll deliver with these.”

A troop of three hundred

Israelite men,

Armed for the battle

Unlikely- but then,

With assurity only

Their God could defeat

Commence in the battle

Their call to complete.

And didn’t He do it?

Yes- only our Savior

Can make us successful

All odds out of favor.
