April 13-19: Exodus 14-18

Like a Child of Israel

The Lord our God set free,

Who left in haste from Egypt’s land

And gathered by the sea.

Those seeking our destruction

Are advancing ever near,

But God commands we hold our peace

And quiet all our fear.

For in Him is salvation

And I’m trusting it is so,

For there’s nowhere to turn back to

There is nowhere else to go.

So I’ll cling unto the promise

That the Lord will fight for me,

As my feet approach the water

At the shoreline of the sea.

And though I haven’t seen it yet

These waves the Lord obey,

And a wall of water on each side

Will open up my way.

And when I reach the other side

And parted water falls

This truth I’ll know: You make a way,

I’m safe within Thy walls.
