The Doorkeeper

August 24-30: Psalm 84:10

Let me wash the windows

Let me sweep the floors

Employ me as a doorkeeper

To stand and keep the doors.

Let me tend the garden

Find for me a use

Let me fill the lowest post

That others might refuse.

Employ me as a servant

There's no call I'm above

If I can serve within Thy house

And dwell within Thy Love.

The wicked have their places

They take their ease in sin

But in Thy house I long to dwell

Oh Lord, please let me in.

Within Thy house give me a post

And I will serve Thee well

For I'd rather keep the door for Thee

Than with the wicked dwell.
